Spent part of the afternoon visiting some of the children that are sponsored by Jigsaw, and their mothers. We were accompanied by one of the Jigsaw workers who introduced us to the family and we were able to talk to them. It gave us some insight into their family situations. There were one or two families we visited that had some livestock that helped to provide financial support for the family. Some had pigs, and/or chickens and ducks and duckings! We were made very welcome in each person's home. One lady was clearly very skilled at making clothes and also she showed us some beautiful curtains she had made for her home. In conversation we discovered how proud they were of what the children were doing at school. One lady produced a photograph of her daughter receiving a certificate. She had achieved third place in her class - no mean achievement. Another mother we met had a son who was sixteen and was doing his final year and would graduate next year; he had a great interest in computers.
