The welcome at the airport as we arrived weary and unsure was a marvellous sight, Tim, Kate and family plus lots of the Jigsaw team with a large banner, a shame none of us had cameras to hand.
Experiencing Sunday worship in Area 4, the joy, praise and thanksgiving to God plus the efforts made to translate into English for us. I shall never forget Pastor Roland's preaching on the theme 'Don't Give Up' and the wonderful singing and music.
Sharing preparation day with the team on the Monday, first worship and then each person knowing exactly their part and the way everyone worked as a unit.
Seeing the children taking part in activities, no different from any Kids groups in England, colouring pictures of Noddy, Lego, Barbie dolls etc. I was also touched by the way they shared things and the skill and enthusiasm of the leaders.
Sharing in prayers for the community in Visayas Avenue, sitting in a circle holding hands, sharing concerns and then each person praying simultaneously.
My abiding memory will not be the huge contrast between rich and poor or the traffic and noise of the streets but the love of Christ, each other, the children and us visitors from England shown by all members of the Jigsaw Team.
Tim and Kate are doing a wonderful job.
